Forum thread: Random letters in the boxes

We have added some new members (used in a youth club) to our role the same way that we always do and for some reason the letter T and V have appeared in every mark box for the 6 or so new names. What is it there for and can we get rid of it without having to press and hold each individual box? What is it for? We use the app on iPads. Also when we delete a member how can we get rid of their name and data altogether not so its just gray'd out? Thanks |

Thank you Jo for your post. Those letters shouldn't have appeared. That sounds odd and is something I'd like to try and understand. If you are willing I'd be grateful for some data files to try and improve STEARsoft so it doesn't happen again. I'll send a separate email on this. One way to eliminate students for situations like a new year when there are several new people and several leavers is to create a new class and then copy into it all those who haven't left. Alternatively, to remove a student completely from a class you need to first of all delete all their attendance data, then purge them. This 'purge' must be done on the web version and is detailed in the user guide. See Teachers-Class options-Removing a student who never turned up. To get rid of all those letters, using the web interface you can drag select a horizontal block for a student and clear the whole block in one go. Yours, Marcus |
